To the Ponder Family, Please accept my sympathy for your loss. The bible calls death an enemy, none of us can outrun it or fight it off. But God is far more powerful than Death. He is the loving Rescuer who has already shown that he can defeat this enemy when he raised his son Jesus Christ from death. And he promises to destroy this enemy, death forever. 1Corinthians 15:26 states: "As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing." We can have confidence in these promises because the Bible states at Numbers 23:19, "God is not a man that he should tell lies." May your family find comfort in these words. To the family of my dear friend, Lavern...I have such a wonderful, sweet memory of your beloved Daughter, Mom, Grandmom and Sister...I called her my Sister, as when I became a member of Bethel, Lavern was the very 1st person to grab my arm and personally welcome me to the church! Her and her neighbor, Frances then asked me join the King of Kings Chorus with them, which I did! So thanks for sharing such a loving, christian and dedicated worker of the church with me...Sis, served faithfully in the kitchen, choir and other capacities of the church until her final hour here on earth! So as hard as it is, look to God for strength and comfort, as she has earned her reward and is not resting from her labor! Rejoice in the LORD, again, I say rejoice! I shall never forget her! With heartfelt sympanthy and love!

To The Ponder Family, I extend my deepest and sincere condolences to all of you!!! Lavern was a beloved sister-in christ to me!! Lavern and I are in the Host & Hostest Ministry and I also sang with her a few years ago with the Mass Choir.. I will always remember Lavern's smile and her tapping me on my back during some of our evening services... To Lavern's children and grandchildren: Just Remember... "Mother's Never Die, They Just Keep House Up In The Sky for the Lord"... and to Lavern's Husband, Mother and Father and Ms. Mary... "Lavern's Journey Has Just Begun, Life Holds so many Facets, This Earth Is Only One!! Your Beloved Lavern is now smiling that "beautiful smile" in the presence of our "Heavely Father"..
