Obituary of Desiree Michelle Pulliam

Desiree Michelle Pulliam was born October 8, 1990 in Wilmington, DE to Sabine Schoch and Kevin Pulliam. She departed this life and gained her eternal wings on May 30, 2020. Desi, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, received her education at Caravel Academy where she was an outstanding basketball player. Desi had a love for various kinds of sports such as swimming and bowling. When it came to football, she was an avid Eagles fan. She was once interviewed by the news media while showing off her newly tattoo representing the E-A-G-L-E-S. Along with her talent with sports and rooting on her favorite team, Desi was in her joy when she was cooking. Desi had a passion for working with animals. She worked at Brandywine SPCA as the Behavior Coordinator for 3 years. She greeted everyone at the Rainbow Bridge with a smile and laughter. She coordinated the adoption of the dogs. This included countless dogs who struggled to find homes; therefore, might not have otherwise been adopted but are now enjoying the love of a family thanks to Desi and her dedication. She made sure that all of the needs for each family were meet and the dogs were adjusting to their new owners. Desi was truly a “Dog Whisperer” when it came to communicating with the animals. They reacted to her in a loving and caring way. Desi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arno Schoch, Roberta and Wilbert Pulliam. Desi leaves to cherish her memories; mother, Sabine Schoch; father, Kevin Pulliam all of Wilmington, DE; brother, Derick Pulliam, Port Penn, DE; grandmother, Gisela Schoch; 3 aunts, 4 uncles, niece, Natalia Pulliam, nephews, Dane and Deacon Pulliam and a host of cousins and friends. And her girlfriend, Cheyenne Welch of Carney Point, NJ.
