Desi I wouldn’t even know where to begin our memories are endless, countless, and unforgettable. From paint nights to six flags or crazy techno music concerts, we always had so much fun no matter what we were doing. People loved us, they loved our love because it started with friendship and though it ended abruptly and we didn’t have much contact after a certain point, you still came into my mind at times our funny moments, our sad moments, in the 7 years I’ve known you we attended 4 funerals together we supported each other so much in happiness and in pain, we struggled together, we succeeded together and we loved each other until the very end. now that you’re gone I feel a void, I’ll never get the chance to tell you anything I so selfishly kept to myself back then out of true hurt and anger and for that Im sorry, you are the reason I am the woman I am today, thank you, I love you forever and I’m so so sorry.

This one hurts my heart so bad. Another young soul taken away from us way to early. Desi, I will always remember the beautiful smile you displayed to everyone who was blessed to be in your presence. Your heart was pure and your laugh was like no other. I Think back to when you would always hang around Derick and I when we played as kids. I regret that i wasn’t around much to see you become the woman you’ve grown to be. That’s the part that will always bother me the most. I wish you were still here so I could hug you one more time and hear that special laugh of yours. I love you and will miss you deeply. Love Lee Hackett and family
Ps: Thoughts and prayers to the family

I remember when you walked through the door all sobbing over that sassy dog of yours because she needed surgery. In the midst of talking to you, you said you were looking for a job and I was like "You want to work here?" And you were like "Hell yeah!" And the rest is history, I can not begin to tell you how honored I am that I was able to watch you grow into the success you made of yourself. You had a nitch that not many people have and you changed so many lives for the better, the dogs in your care and the families that adopted them. It was a joy to work with you, you made everyday special, I was always laughing with you around. We were close, we had our moms in common which gave us even more to talk about. Des I cant even begin to tell you how much I am gonna miss you, you were an asset to the shelter and the animals, you made such an impact on everyone you came in contact with. I dont think I will every truly get over this, please watch over us and tell my mom I love and miss her. I love you Des, until we meet again. Rest in peace.

Wow Desi. Where do I even start?! Two years ago when u and my daughter, Cheyenne, fell in love with each other, I can honestly say that life became interesting. Then when u moved in with us it became a hurricane! LOL. Your zest for life was uncomparable to any other. U met Cheyenne at the SPCA where u both shared such a great love of dogs. Since that time the two of u were almost inseparable. It was a joy to see the love grow everyday between the two of u. Being truthful tho, it wasn't always a bed of Rose's, but the two of u always managed to work things out and become stronger. Your smile could light up a dark room and I don't think I've ever heard Cheyenne laugh so much and so hard before being with u. Even tho u and I had our quirks, I always believed that I would one day call you my daughter-in-law. You brought my daughter out of her shell and made her a better person for it. I truly admired and respected the hell out of u for the way u ALWAYS took care of ur Mom. U were there for her like no other. I've seen the way u would fight for her with the facility to make sure that she was being taken care of in the way u would have done for her. Hell, I even went with u a few times to raise some cane with them too! Rest easy beautiful knowing that ur Mom and all 3 of ur babies will be well taken care of. U will forever have a piece of our hearts. I'll do my best to take care of Cheyenne for u. Know that u r missed beyond words and loved by all who have known u! Shine bright, have fun and take care of all the dogs that crossed the Rainbow Bridge! Im sure ur teaching them everything u know. Love more than u know! Until God has us meet again.........
