Obituary of Colburn Scott Sewell

Colburn Scott Sewell Colburn Scott Sewell was born on August 29, 1936, the 16th of 17 children born to the late Perry H. and Edna G. Sewell. He departed this life on June 10, 2011. He died eight days after his brother, James Irvin Sewell. Colburn attended George Washington Carver High School in Elkton, Maryland. Over the years, he was employed by the town of Chesapeake City and The Cecil Whig newspaper (both located in Maryland). While living in New York, he accepted a position with the James Buscarello Construction Company as a foreman. He was also employed by the Wackenhut Security Corporation as a Security Officer. Colburn was the youngest brother of the Sewell family. He loved his family dearly and never hesitated to express his love. He looked forward to all family gatherings and enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family. In mentoring his nieces and nephews, he would tell stories of all the important lessons he learned from his parents and his brothers and sisters. He had a joyful spirit and a personality that drew people to him. He respected each person that he met in life as an individual and expected the same from them. His one of a kind smile would light up a room and his laugh brought joy to your heart. He loved music of all kinds and was known for his intricate dance moves. Once you met Colburn, you could never forget him. He was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted companion, Rita Meskunas; his brother, Amos (Doris) of Waco, Texas; sister, Sandra D. of Brooklyn, New York; adopted grandchildren Jake, Cyric, Merissa, and Tempest Meskunas; and a host of nieces (including A.
