Obituary of Melvin Clarence Hoil

He is preceded by his parents, Melvin Sr. and Katherine Hoil. Melvin was born April 5, 1961 in Wilmington. Graduate of A.I. DuPont High School, Culinary School of Philadelphia, served honorably in the U.S. Army for many years, active duty the Korea conflict and many years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the International Longshoreman Local 1694 for over 20 years, and Bethel AME Church. He is survived by 4 children, Michelle Brown, Melvin C. Hoil, III, Lamar Hammond and Malcolm E. Berry; 4 sisters, Cynthia W. Warner, Gwendolyn J. West, Veronica C. West, and Lisa Hoil Tucker; 2 grandchildren, Harold Best, III, and Zion Jones; several nieces, nephews, cousins, long-time companion, Angela Berry-Jones; his step-daughter Alana Jones and many, many friends.
