To Wilma, Jackie, Ralph and Yvonne: Mr. John was a wonderful man. He was loved and will be missed. I still remember the days when he used to load up his truck and take the neighborhood kids to church and church school. You are all in my prayers. Love, Rosa

To the Whittington Legacy,
My thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this time. The "Patriarch" will surely be missed by all who were blessed to know him. I can truly say that he was part of the "village" who helped raise the children, because when you were in his presence, you were one of his own! May your fondest and cherished memories comfort you always.
God's love, blessings and peace

To Wilma, Jackie, Ralph and the rest of the family:
My heart goes out to you all in the passing of your father. Mr. John, always a quiet man who had a very ferocious laugh. That laugh of Mr. John and Mr. Fred were unmistakable. The strength, love for family and work ethic displayed by those men is sorely missing in families today. We all carefully gave Mr. John the respect of an elder statesman when our paths crossed. He often returned the smile as a thank you for remembering who he was.
Love of family and friends will bring you through the "Tuff" days as you move forward.
You know that I speak as a person who has been where you are today. I remain available as one of those friends who will be standing in your corner if you need me.
Lovingly Submitted,
Wayne K. Portlock
