I was shocked to learn of Nella's
death. She and I first met at Camp Robinwood Girl Scout Camp. She was a student at Yates High and I at Wheatley High. We looked forward to meeting each summer at the camp. After graduating from high school, we went our separate ways. Three years ago, Nella located me through the internet.
What a joy it was to renew the friendship. We exchanged emails until I became critically ill.
She was a loving and caring person and she will truly be missed by those of us who had the good fortune of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
All of you have my profound sympathy and my prayers.

Neely Family,
My condolences go out to all the family and friends that has taken part in Miss Neely's life. Death is not a bad thing and it actually is a good thing. I know it is better to be present with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ than to be here on earth. So at this time of grievance, let it also be a celebration that she is in a better place.
Much love to:
Aunt Jackie Brownlee
Aunt Cheryl Neely
Cousin/brother: Bryson Brownlee
Cousin: Jocelyn Brownlee
and the rest of the friends and family
God Bless

On behalf of the Officers, Board and Membership of the NC100BW-DE, we extend our deepest sympathy to the Neely family. Nella, a Chartered Member, shared her time, talent and treasure from the outset, lived up to the call and name of a true Coalition Sister. She let her light shine as a model, supporter, friend, and confidant. Although the circle of sisters has been broken, her spirit, her humor, her zest for life shall keep each of us strong as we continue to champion issues of justice, equity and empowerment for the African-American woman, her family, and her community. We thank you, God, for blessing our lives with Nella.
Edie Corbin, President, NCBW-Delaware and
Enid-Wallace-Simms, President-elect and National Board Member

Dearest Jackie,
I can't comprehend just how sad you must feel
For the loss of someone you love.
This sorrowful time must still feel unreal
And you're looking for strength from above.
I hope, from my heart, that your pain will decrease,
That your spirit will gain strength again,
And I pray that your faith will create inner peace
And that God will send blessings--Amen.
Till then, if you need me to lighten your load,
I'm waiting to come to your aid.
Just call on me, and I'll walk down that road,
Until the dark times start to fade.
Jackie, Cheryl and Phillip, I love you.

To my fellow founder of the Delaware chapter of 100 Black Women: I remember your words of encouragement and voice of reason as we worked together as sisters to get our chapter started. May your soul rest in peace and your family take comfort in their memories of you as a true WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE. A donation in your name will be made to the Delaware chapter.

To Nella's children & family,
Please know that she is in a better place...You will miss her and will grieve the lost, but time heals all pain. Keep the wonderful memories that you have share over the years in your heart and mind..the love for her children, family, friends and her capacity to make a yard come alive with her planting of flowers, shurbs and grass...that was one of her many talents.
I say to my sorority sister, REST SISTER, REST!
