Obituary of Willie Lee Pierson

Willie Lee Pierson affectionately known as "Bert", Rev. and several different nicknames by her family and friends was born May 30, 1935 in Tams, West Virginia to the late Willie Lee Henry and Ethel Mae Clark. She went to her rest on November 1, 2005 at the Christiana Care Hospital, Newark, DE. Willie Lee was united in holy matrimony to the late Jessie A. Pierson on November 12, 1953. To this union they were blessed with three children, one son, John K. Pierson, two daughter, Rochelle D. and Juanita T. Pierson all of Wilmington, Delaware. She also had one adopted daughter the late Darlene T. Dye. She also raised her granddaughter Janeisha Washington. Willie Lee received her early education in Tams, West Virginia and graduated from Bryd Pillerman High School in Amigo, West Virginia. Willie Lee was employed for forty years by Mr. and Mrs. Johannes Kramer and over the years a very special bond and friendship was formed. Willie Lee was an active and faithful member of Ezion Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church for over thirty years, where she was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Women and the Communion Stewards. Over the years Willie Lee was involved in many organization serving in various capacities. One brother John Clark and five sisters Louise Radford, Henrietta Clark, Helen Clark, Flora James and Lorine Dailey preceded Willie Lee in death. Willie Lee leaves to cherish her memory; her son John K. Pierson, daughter-in-law Evonne Pierson; two daughters Rochelle D. and Juanita T. Pierson ; granddaughter Janeisha Washington whom she raised all of Wilmington, Delaware; one sister, Virla Mae Cook of Cleveland, Ohio; a host of devoted friends whom she considered as sisters; three brothers-in-law, Eddie, Cleo and Larry Pierson; two sisters-in-law, Vanilla Holt and Mary E. Pierson all of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandson, Jay, Kelvin and Tyrique D. Clark all of Wilmington, Delaware; eight great grandchildren; one godson Michael Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
