Obituary of Clark Benson

Clark Benson went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 27, 2005. Clark, son of the late Robert and Flora Benson was born in Wilmington, DE on May 28, 1954. He was raised on the lower Eastside known as "Downtown". He was one of the original "Downtowners" He attended the Wilmington Public School system and graduated from Howard High School. He joined the Military were he received a honorable Discharge. He loved singing and was a member of the male chorus and a longtime member of Community Presbyterian Church in NewCAstle, DE. Though he had no children of his own, Uncle Clark was always there to help take care of everybody else's little ones. Allo fo his nieces and nephews have fond memories of being with him, especially goint to parades and trick or treating or just plan ole having fun. We now he is home having more fun than anyone could image with GOD, whom he cherished most. In addition to his mother and father, Clark was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Anderson and Michael and Carlton "Louis" Benson, and recently two great aunts, Isabella Martin and Ida Burton and one of his favortie nephews Brian Benson. He leaves to cherish his memories brothers Bruce E. Benson and Kirk Benson, Sr. and sisters Sheila Jones, Blair, Sandra, and Deborah "Debbie" Benson; brother-in-law Harold Stith, sisters -in-laws Sheila Dorsey, Shirely Commodore and adopted sisters Rosalind White-Smith and Barbara Jean Wilson and Sharon Briscoe, Lois Mitchell-Fields, Nadine Shall, and Bruce Benefield, and over 70 nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
