Obituary of Minister Sara Randolph Rhoades

Min. Sara R. Rhoades was the daughter of Rev. Mary Rebecca and Rev. Samuel B. Randolph, Sr. Her parents moved to Philadelphia, PA where she attended public schools. At the age of 16 , she met Benjamin C.L. Rhoades. Three years later on her birthday in 1936, they married. Eventually, they settled in Coatesville, PA and to this union, Gwendolyn R. Rhoades was born,. Min. Rhoades attended nursing school and received L.P.N. Min. Rhoades was active in her community. Min. Sara Rhoads was a member of the Ward AME Church in Philadelphia, PA for over 45 years,. In March 2002, she changed her longtime membership to support her granddaughter, Apostle Dawn S. Christopher, becoming a member of Mount Zion Greater Harvest Ministries International II formerly Mount Zion Holy Christian Church. Under the leadership of Apostle Dawn, Min. Rhoades answered the call to the ministry at the age of 86 yrs. Min. Sara R. Rhoades was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Bejamin, her parents, Rev. Mary Rebecca and Rev. Samuel B. Randolph, sr.; her brothers Gussie and Samuel Randolph, Jr., and sister Leila Randolph Beamon,, She leaves to mourn her daughter Gwendolyn, stepson Stevin, granddaughter Apostle Dawn, grandson-in-law Calvin, great granddaughters Tiffany and Ashley, brother Elijah and Rev. David L. Randolph, sisters Rev. Rachel G. Scott and Ruth Walters, and ahost of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
