Obituary of Elder Baker Jackson
Elder Baker Jackson departed this life on Thursday, October 20, 2005 in Brandywine Nursing Home in Newark, Delaware. Baker Jackson was the 5th of six children born to Nellie Robisnon and Reverend Dee Jackson, Sr. He was born on November 29, 1925 in Woodbond, Georgia and was educated in the Kinlaw Roosevelt School System. In 1943 during World War II Baker served his country in the United States Navy, afterwards moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in search of a promising future. There is met the love of his life, Rita Laws and they were united in Holy Matrimony on July 5th, 1953. Baker worked most of his life as a construction worker for Orleans Construction Company until his retirement. He accepted Christ as his Savior and joined several churches until he found his home at True Vine Holiness, where he rejoiced in doing GOD�(TM)s work. Baker expressed Christ�(TM)s characteristics by showing a heartfelt compassion for his wife Rita and his church. He remained a devoted and dedicated member until his death. “GOD shall wipe away all tears from his eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain….” Revelation 21:4. Baker was predeceased by his brothers; Dee Jackson, Jr, Anthony Jackson; sister, Julia Ausborn. He leaves to honor his memory; his devoted wife, Rita Jackson; brother, Johnny Jackson; sister, Idabell Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Christopher Pringle, Sr. and Johnny Laws; five sisters-in-law, Rose Jackson, Carmenthe Pringle, Alverta Laws, Thelma Laws and Juanne Laws; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
