To Virgil & The Broadnax Family, Hi Sam . This is Desiree (Staats). It's been years, but hopefully you still remember me from back in the day when you lived on Bennett Street. And from Gauger Middle School days. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for you and your families loss. I just so happened to be on this website reading another obituary and I saw your brothers name. I remember talking to you on the phone back in the day (around 13, 14 years of age) and hearing you yell at your little brothers (as brothers sometimes do). Earl and Day-Day.....I'll never forget the names because you called their names sooo much...Lol. I even got to talk to them a few times. Just wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my prayers and I do hope that God gives you the strength to get stronger over time. It's never easy when we lose a loved one, but know that God makes no mistakes and he will comfort you even when words are not enough. God Bless you

I remember his smile our long talks on the phone playing outside at the park siting on the step having long conversations. We did so much together enjoyed every minute of it, wish u was still here. Dont know why you are gone so fast so soon just was talking to you, I love you soo much Earl

I remember his lovely smile, his silly laugh, and the rubber bands that he loved to wear on his arm. Why? I don't know. He'd stop the mailman and ask if they had any extra rubber bands. He was a loving angel. Although I mourn for him heavily, I'm glad he is in a better place. I will always love him and he will be forever missed. R.I.P my love

Earl knew me as Mrs. Richardson when I was a teacher aide at Pulaski. He was in my LRE class. I remember him as a feisty 12 year-old who was interested in learning. The small classroom setting enabled him to succeed. When he missed the school bus, he would take a city bus to school. To me, that showed how much he valued his education. I extend my sympathies over his passing at such a young age. I will always remember him with fondness.

Dear Broadnax Family: I wish to extend my condolence: To Lose a loved one in death can be one of the worse emotional experience we have to face. But the Bible truths lessen the sorrow and grief. For it tells us why we are dying and the hope for the death. Romans 5 12 . Tells us why man is dying. John 5 28, 29 gives hope for the dead. Finally Isa 25 8,9 tells of a time when death will be swallowed up . I encourage you to read the Bible, Always go to God in prayer. Again I send my condolences
