She was born in Delaware City, Delaware on June 15, 1921. She attended Howard High School in Wilmington, Delaware. Gladys was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Clara R. Howard; stepfather, Mr. Shirley Howard; sister, Dorothy Camphor; sister-in-law, Vera P. Russ and her husband, Bishop Richard Morgan. After her marriage to Richard, the couple moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where they became entrepreneurs. They opened a second hand thrift shop and a small restaurant. While living in Philadelphia they accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. They diligently worked in the church and its mission. After approximately five years, Gladys and Rich were called to the ministry. As they prayerfully sought God(TM)s direction, Richard felt the unction of the Holy Spirit to relocate to Monrovia, California where they subsequently built a mission church. Gladys loved to sing and play her guitar in the worship services. Gladys enjoyed family dinners and outing when she came home to visit her mother and sister. The whole family celebrated holidays and special events together. Gladys leaves to cherish her memory, two nieces, Joan A. Lewis, Vera L. Gladney; one nephew, Napoleon Thomas Russ; cousins, Yvonne and Cheryl Burgess, Betty K. Diossi, Hilbert L. Keys, Jr, Rhonda K. Wilson and a host of other relatives, friends and her church family.
