Obituary of Alice Virginia Thomas

Alice was born to Julius and Uriah Cobb on December 11, 1928 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. She was educated in the public school of Aliquippa, PA and Engelwood, NJ. Alice worked for Michigan Bell, Nynex, New Jersey Bell, AT&T and Verizon for a total of Thirty-three years. She retired in 1986. Alice was member of the telephone Pioneers Association, MOT Senior Center and AARP. Alice enjoyed volunteering in her community, she received an award from the State of delaware Department of Health and Social service for her volunteer efforts. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, painting, nurturing flowers and plants, collecting elephants and spend time with her grandchildren, other family members and friends. Alice was married to Edward Taylor who predeceased her, for Forty-Eight years. They had one son Julius K. Taylor. Alice was active member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Alice leaves to cherish her memory; her loving son Julius; daughter-in-law Tressa; grandchildren, Alicia Fay Taylor and Julius Kirby Taylor, Jr., and her sisters; Jewel Dean of Washington, DC, Irene Downing and husband James of Aliquippa, PA and a host of other family members and friends.
