Obituary of Katie Louise Winckler-Brock

Katie Lousie Winckler-Brock, daughter of the late Albert W. and Eva Walker-Winckler, departed this life April 25, 2005 at the Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She received her education in the public school system of Mecklenburg County, VA at an early age. She later joined St. Paul Episcopal Church in Union Level, VA. She was united in marriage to the late Douglas R. Brock and they moved to Wilmington, DE, where she attended Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church in Wilmington, DE, which later became the Episcopal Church of St.Andrew & Matthew. Katie was a quiet and loving person, always ready to help her family. She leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons, Alphonso, Melvin and Karl W. Brock; 2 devoted daughters-in-law, Carolyn of Newark, DE and Nadine of Wilmington, DE; a brother, Napoleon C. Winckler, a very devoted sister-in-law, Mable Brown of Backerville, VA; also 2 devoted nieces, Barbara Gregory and Theresa Rogers, both of Backerville, VA; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nephews and friends. There will be a funeral service at 11am on Friday, April 29, 2005, at St. Andrew & Matthew Episcopal Church, 8th & Orange Sts., Wilmington, DE. Family and friends may call from 10-11pm on Friday, and also on Thursday, April 28, 2005, at The House of Wright Mortuary, 208 E. 35th St., Wilmington, DE from 6-8 pm. Interment will be on Friday in Riverview Gardens Cemetery.
