Obituary of Joseph Lockett

Joseph Lockett age 77 was born to the late Clarence and Leconer Thompson Lockett on July 12, 1927. He was educated in the Tazewell County School System in Virginia. Joseph's occupations have included; janitorial work at the Company Store in Boissevain, VA and Itmann, West, VA. After moving to Delaware in early 1950's, Joe held positions with Amalamated Leather Company, Artcraft Electrical Company and Gregg Bus Company. Joseph served in the United States Air Force in the 1940's. He retired from Dart after working over 18 years most recently from Amtrak Train Station shining shoes for over 10 years until his health began to fail. His hobbies included listening to his music, watching racing and baseball. He gave himself the nick name :Dr. A Jax" and was known as "Wild Bill". Joseph knew God to be the answer to all his problems and attended church not far from his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Leconer Lockett; four brothers, Nathaniel, Langston, Ronell and Thomas Lockett; three sisters, Margaret Lockett-Johnson, Alberta Lockett and Ardenia Scott; his son, Chucky Sturgis. He leaves to cherish his memories; his sister, Rebecca Drummond; brother Bishop Charles C. Lockett, Sr., both of Wilmington, DE; one sister-in-law, Mary Lockett; two brother-in-laws, Bishop Charles B. Scott and Ret.
