Obituary of David Roger Benson
DAVID, age 60 passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at the Wilmington Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Harrington, DE to the late George Brooklyn and Alice Pearl Benson. He received his early education in the Sussex County. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1967. During his tour of duty he served in the Vietman War where he received the Purple Heart Medal, 2 bronze star medals for bravery, an air medal and various other awards. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1969. His son, David R. Benson, Jr., his siter Ida Benson and two brothers, George Benson and William Benson, Sr., and a nephew, William Benson, Jr., preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory are: His wife, Gladys Benson of wilmington, DE, his daughter Linda Benson-Fleming and her husband Edward of Wilmington, DE; 3 grandsons, Sirron, Kadeem and Elyaas Benson; 1 granddaughter, Edaesia Fleming; 2 sisters Lillian Farlow of Dover, DE and Alice Fitchett of Seaford, DE; 3 brothers, Charles Bensonof Loisiana, Lester Benson of Bear, DE and Ronald Parker of Dover, DE; three cousins, Chester Lewis of Dover, DE, Leon Holmes of Seaford, DE and Geroge Holmes of Wilmington, DE and a host of nieces, nephews and amultitude of friends Read David Benson, Sr.'s Obituary and Guestbook on houseofwrightmortuary.com.
