Obituary of Charles James Williams

Charles James Willliams, Sr "Mayor of 10th Street" age 84 years of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Christiana Hospital.Charles was born in Smyrna, DE on December 12, 1919, son of the late Charles and Edith Williams. He served in the US Army in World War II. Charles retired from Allied Chemical after 36 years of service. He loved baseball, fishing and telling a great story. He was also a long time member of St. Paul UAME Church and a member of the Brotherhood.He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Dorothy Emory, 3 sons; Charles (Denise), Kenneth (Alva) and Reginald (Barbara), 2 brothers; Calvin May and Paul, 3 sisters: Rebecca (John) Doughty, Roberta Ridgeway and Grace Henry, devoted friends Henry and Sharon Smith, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
