Praise God another soldier gone Home.
She will forever be missed. She was the advisor for my mom, Mo. Nellie Chavis, when she got saved over 50 years ago. She preached a sermon in my youth, "Run Joe Run" . She was a great encourager, exhorter, entertainer, evangelist, and enjoyer of life. Family look up and know she is resting from her labor to her reward. Remember the teachings and lets live it out.

My thoughts and prayers are sent to you during your time of Sympathy. I will always remember Dr. Sherfield for the last sermon I heard her preach some 25 years ago and I keep the words that she said in that sermon close to my heart, " You don't need the whole log just a branch to make it to Jesus". She will be missed.

My niece Rudyne was an exceptional person, she had a tender loving heart, a strong belief in family, and was a dear friend. God chose a wonderful soul as his servant ,her love and dedication to him was inspiring. I will miss her sweet voice, her prayers, advice and how special she made me feel. I'll always cherish the time I was blessed to be in her presence.
Despite her physical pain and weakness she remained a dutiful Pastor. I remember one particular day we were having a conversation on the phone, it was Saturday, she said," I don't care what they say" (meaning her much concerned congregation and loved ones) "I will serve in the House of the Lord as long as I'm alive."
My lovely niece kept family unity in her heart, Rudyne and Molly ( who preceded her in going home to the Lord) were instrumental in helping me to gain knowledge of loved ones I hadn't met or known. Family was a gift she believed should not be allowed to fail in love, caring and the knowledge of roots. She will be greatly missed here on earth and greatly received in heaven.

I thank God for the time that I had with this anointed jewel in my life. I came to Calvary with two small children.one was 9 and the other was 2..Pastor took us in as one of her own and she loved me so much that she started calling me her god son and my girls and I was blessed to have in our lives. I would travel to her church from MD every second Sunday With Bishop Hazzard. That was the hight light of my spiritual growth ..getting there to see her and eating community that she made. I will miss the talks on the phone the calls on fathers day and just the sound of her voice. There's so much I could say about this woman of God but just not enough time and space but one thing I know for sure and that is that you are resting in peace. Until we meet again Godmom .

My condolences go to the family of the beloved Dr. Sherfield! I have known her since I was a young lady directing the Youth Pentecostal Crusade. She was a wonderful woman and her smile will be missed along with her beautiful demeanor. A lover of the Word of God and a example of a Woman of God. My prayers are with the family. May the peace of God rest on you the family.
God bless.
