Obituary of Deacon Daniel Webster Lawson

Daniel was born on March 3, 1946 in Grayton, Maryland to the late Daniel and Mamie Lawson. Daniel was educated in Mt. Hope Elementary and Pomonkey High school. He was baptized at a young age, and has been a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Linwood PA for over 40 years where he was ordained as a Deacon, served as church treasurer for 20 years, and was a member of the Male and Senior Choirs. Daniel was employed by Phoenix Steel in Wilmington, DE and Lukens Steel in Conshohocken, PA until their closings. He briefly worked at Chestnut Ridge for 3 years until his retirement in 2010. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mamie Lawson, four sisters, Sarah Thomas, Lucille Gaines Flourine Savoy and Mamie Johnson and special mother-in-law Lucy Peterson. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lou Jean (Peterson) Lawson, his children, Daniel Lawson III (Keyara), Theresa Lawson and Steven Lawson (Chaka). Ten grandchildren, Correll, Christian, De'Avion, Donovan, Cheala, Lenaysha, Mikayla, Jordan, Jada and Daniel, IV, 2 brothers, Jessie (Katherine) and William (Wanda), 2 sisters, Celestine Smith and Mary Swann.
