I only had Mr. Brown once at Gauger-the 3rd marking pd when I was in seventh grade. He was the absolute best. Mr. Brown always made health fun. But he was more than just a teacher. He was a friend-some one who anyone could talk to. On August 14, 2004 I found out that Mr. Jeffrey Brown had died. I was so upset. I wanted to go to his funeral but I missed it and I regret missing it. I have health class right now (I'm an 8th grader) and being in Mr. Brown's class with a different teacher reminds me every day that he's gone. We ALL miss him-even the kids who didn't have him!
God Bless you Mr. Jeffrey Brown!

Our Prayers and thoughts are with Mr. Brown's family. Even though it has been a month, I still felt I had to share this thought. My daughter Katelyn was privledged to be able to read a letter she wrote about Mr. Brown at his funeral. Her exact words to me before writing her thoughts were that Mr. Brown had been the best teacher she had ever had! When someone, especially a teacher, touches your child like that, her memories of him will speak volumes for the rest of her life. Needless to say, gone but not forgotten...we know you are inspriring your class in Heaven!
God Bless...

Mr. Brown was the best teacher ive ever had. He wasnt just a teacher to me he was like a bestfriend that i looked up to. He was always full of joy and he never seemed upset with anyone, it was like if anything was the matter he would make it into a good thing. He never lexture us he would talk to us as if we were an adult and he respected us for who we were and what we did even if what we did was wrong. Im very mad that god had to take him from us because he was a very good person but i guess it was for the better & i hope he is in a better place! I will never forget him or the advice he gave me.

I would like to start off by saying that it was a great shock to us all when we were told the news. I my heart goes out to all family and friends of his. He was loved by all of his students and will be greatly missed. Mr. Brown was one of my favorite teachers. It's very often that you find a teacher that really takes pride in his work and cares about his students. He was there with us on a personally level that most teachers can't do. He would tell us things that most people wouldn't say and keep it real. Some people would just lie. Brown didn't he told people how he felt straight from the door. I mean he never had a problem with disrespect, because he was quick to get with you if needed to be. Brown was like a father figure to me and he will be greatly missed by me, family, friends, and other students. Hopefully one day we will get to see him again. He will never be forgotten.

I never had the chance to have Mr. Brown as a health teacher during my 7th grade year at Gauger but i did talk to him while switching class and throughout the school-day. He was always smiling and and have very high spirits. He was the only teacher that sold and allowed us to chew gum in his class. Mr. Brown was always in the hallways in the mornings to greet his students. Mr.Brown you will truly be missed by me and like they say " God only takes the best" and you truly are one of the best. Mr.Brown waz like the truth all of us students at Gauger were looking for.Instead of lecturing you he kept it real, thats what most of us like about him. He was very down to earth he never made you feel as if you were of lower authority than him.I never cared and had so much respect for one teacher as i did him.If i knew this was going to happen to someone who i cared about so much i would of said so much more to him than "Bye". But you cant turn back time, so all i can hope is that he will be in a better place and that his on-going life will change for the better. He changed my life and so many others in our school, we couldnt of done without him! I would like to send my love out to his family and close friends and let them know that he was put on this earth for a very good reason and that he has fufilled his duties...God Bless.

I would like to send my condolences to the family members and friends of Mr. Brown. I was a student of his for only two years but it felt like a lifetime. He was laid-back, down to Earth and someone I could talk to about personal issues. He told me to stay the way I was and not to change for anyone because I was unique. That's why he was my favorite teacher. The last time I had spoken to him was a week before school ended and we we're looking for learning supplies for the next school year. If I would have known that was the last time, I would talk to him I would have said more than "Goodbye". I'd explain to him how much of an impact he had on my life. I was surprised to have found out he had passed and cried like I had lost my best friend. I went to Gauger knowing I would meet new people and new friends but having Mr. Brown be one was a great experience. Mr. Brown will be greatly missed by me and other students that were blessed to have him as a teacher. God bless

Mr. Brown was the best teacher I have ever had before and he was the funniest teacher too. He cared about every student he had and taught us alot and some stuff was just about life. I hope he'll injoy where he is, heaven.
God saw you were getting tired,
And a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to me".
With tearful eyes they watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We couldn't make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best!

My Beloved Family,
I just became aware of Jeffrey's passing, and the service is in progress, therefore I will not be able to attend. But please accept my deepest sympathy.
I do remember Jeffrey from High School and he has always been a outstanding person, friendly and easy to get alone with. I'm sure you will miss him, but rest assured that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Myra, Nina, and Travalyn, my prayers are with you.
Please stay strong in the Lord and keep the faith. I will be praying for you.

I have thought of Jeffrey often though we had not communicated with one another for a little more than a decade. Like many others, when I first met Jeff, almost 30 years ago, I was captivated by his easy-going, light-hearted personality. I grew to know him as a very proud and passionate man. Indeed, he did enjoy his work with students and helping others in whatever way he could. Jeff once shared a newspaper clipping with me; a picture of himself as a teenager and a report that he had saved a man from drowning. It was one of those life experiences that he relished having ventured. It was one of those things that surely impressed me. I appreciate that I had the opportunity to watch, and see, and hear, and hear about, many things that were good and made him happy. My prayers go out to Mr. Potts, Trevy, Myra, Nina, Erica and others.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.
Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely,
who conducts his affairs with justice.
Surely he will never be shaken;
a righteous man will be remembered forever.

Jeffery and I go way back,as children, we attended Camp Fairlee Manor in Chestertown, Maryland together. We were good friends and competed against each other on the basketball court; for the top Archery honors, and for the attention of some of the same girls. We also attended Wilmington High School together. Jeffery was smart, and a lot of fun. When I read that his students really liked him, I can understand why, Jeffery knew why they needed a solid / comprehensive education, and I know he did everything within his power to help shape them into positive and able individuals. Bro, we had some good times together at camp, I'll Miss you Jeffery, take care, Larry
