Obituary of Derek Michael Wynn

Derek Michael Wynn was born on June 17, 1989 at Christiana Hospital. He was the only child of Michael James Wynn and Renee Joline Phillips-Wynn. On Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 2:53pm God sent his angel to bring Derek home. He needed the Master's call and claimed his resting place at the age of twenty-five. He was a graduate of Howard High School class of 2007. Derek was attending Delaware Technical Community College to obtain a degree in culinary arts and hotel restaurant management. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Church on the Rock Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Marcia Pitts. Derek loved playing online video games, he enjoyed giving advice to his friends and spending time with family. He often played flag football, played pee-wee football and lettered in the J.V. and varsity football teams at Howard High School. He played the position of defensive tackle on the Howard High School Blue Hen Conference Flight B Football 2006 Championship team. He was an avid collector of a variety of sneakers and enjoyed trading them. His favorite sports teams were Orlando Magic and the Denver Broncos. He is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Renee Wynn; grandfather, Harry Sample (Betty); four uncles, Carl D. Wynn (Rose), Thomas B. Wynn, Wayne L. Wynn (Chinita), Jerry Phillips (Ann); two aunts, Mary H. Wise and Beatrice P. Jones (Ronny); three special aunts, Kate Griffin, Velma Ricks and Lynne Smith; his two loving Godmothers, Bishop Marcia Pitts and Tammy McWilliams; his devoted Godsister, Kayla McWilliams.
