Obituary of Leroy Clarence Briscoe

aka Clarence Leroy Briscoe Age 73, passed away on March 19, 2014 at home. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his very memorable life. Lee was born on January 17, 1941 in Townsend, De. to the late Preston Briscoe, Sr. and the late Helen Johnson-Briscoe. Lee Graduated from Louis L. Redding High School. He retired from the City of Newark as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic after 27 years of service in 2003. Lee loved to visit with family and friends. He loved helping others especially with fixing cars. He enjoyed watching westerns, WWE wrestling and the Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers. He also enjoyed spending leisure time at Delaware Park and Atlantic City. He was preceded in death by his daughters Delisa Jones and Diana Briscoe, sister, Mary Briscoe and brother, Preston Briscoe, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Loretta Briscoe; 2 devoted sisters, Dorothy Green and Roseanna Cale; granddaughter, LaKeesha Ward (Semaj); brother, Charles Ringgold; brother-in-law, George Mitchell, Jr.; mother-in-law, Louvinia(Bea)Mitchell; father-in-law, George (Tommy) Mitchell; his longtime friend, co-worker and neighbor John Thompson, as well as a host of other family and friends.
