Obituary of Mary Charlene Davis

Mary Charlene Davis was born July 5, 1961 in Wilmington, DE to the late Paul P. Lee and Margaret A, Davis. She transitioned from her earthly tabernacle to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2021 while in the privacy of her own home as she desired. 

Mary was educated in the Wilmington Public School System. After graduation, she enrolled in Glenville State College in West Virgina, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting. Later, she enrolled in Wilmington College (University) and earned credits towards her Master's Degree.  She was employed with several different companies and performed jobs that she enjoyed throughout her career. She worked for American Express in account management, and later moved into the role of Staff Development with Education and Training. Mary had special talents of reaching out and assisting those with special needs as evidenced by her mentoring work at Job Corps Center for several years. She had a love for sports, and was very athletic, running track, playing basketball in addition to completing several marathons. 

She did not have any biological children but provided love and care to her nieces and nephews as though they were her own. Mary was quite the encourager, and very benevolent in that she paid tuitions and college fees for not only her family members, but other young people who had a desire and willingness to learn. 

Preceded in death by both parents, as well as brothers: Sir Wil Lazarus, Anthony G. Davis and Donald E. Davis.  Survived by siblings: Nathaniel G. Davis, Sharon Smith, Paula Putney, Bishop Ellis M. Davis, Sr. and Dion D. Davis. A Special Niece Tiffany Putney, and other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two Loving Aunts: Lorraine Waters and Nancy Bell. 

Services will be private and interment will be in Gracelawn Cemetery.
