Obituary of Sylvia J Harvey

Sylvia Jayne Harvey born on March 24, 1943 to the late Ernest and Veora (Floyd) Ginn in Chester, Pennsylvania. Sylvia departed this life on February 7, 2021 at 11:38 am, peacefully with the comfort of her family around her bedside. Sylvia received her education in the Chester Public School system. She graduated from Chester High School in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Sylvia enjoyed working as a pressing at B Gross Cleanings in Media, Pennsylvania for many years, as well as Sears and Roebuck.

On August 4, 1962 Sylvia married her love, the late James Harvey. She enjoyed being a housewife. In their loving union they had 5 beautiful children Brian, Gwendolyn, Dawn, Steven and Derrick.

Momma was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as GG and Grandmom. Her favorite time was always spent with her children, grand-children and great grands.

She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and with whomever came into her presence. She had such a funny sense of humor. She was always welcoming in her heart. Whenever anyone visited or called her favorite greeting was “Hey boo!. She then went into getting into all your business by asking question after question. Now don’t get her upset then you might hear a “Scottah” or now that’s some “Bull Scottah”. Or the time when she would say…. “Stop I Say! Let that Be the Reason!

Momma loved traveling with her family and having a good time. She attended Spirit Life Ministries International church under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth E. Gaines.

She was proceeded in death by her husband James Harvey, her parents, Ernest & Veora Ginn; her children Brian, Steven and Derrick.

She leaves to cherish her memories her 2 daughters Gwendolyn(Bryon)Pyatt, and Dawn Harvey 4; grandchildren Tanisha(Ronnie) Brown, Jamar, Jalessa(Anthony Cobbs) , Jada; 9, great-grandchildren Marquise, Kayla, Jordan, Chase, Leah, Jennea, Nurah, Ibraheem, Alex (AJ) and a host of cousins,  extended daughters, sons, grandchildren. Devoted friends near and far and the Sacred Heart Village.
