Dear Pop-Pop
Some say the Measure of a Man is the Legacy he leaves behind.....I say the Love that a Man earns means more. So here I am as a grown man believing in Super Heroes......because I believe I had a SUPER MAN as Grand Father.
So its hard to think of you laying down when all I know is the Man that always STOOD up as a Father, Husband, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Man and Business man. I love and will you miss you Pop-Pop.
I can still hear your voice talking with my Mom. Saying " Denise, I'm doing the best I can, with what I got ". Hearing her laugh as you two talked for hours. Seeing her Happy just talking to her Dad.
We love you Pop-Pop. All of your GRANDKIDS, that all have their own special Pop-Pop memories and moments. Greg, Marvin, Shanyelle ,Kiko, Ashley, Rae-Rae, Rasheen, Maurice ,Kiana, Alana, Dewayne and Tatiana. We Love you.
The time I was 5yrs old and locked the door to your house(chain lock from the inside). You saved me from my mom's wrath as all of the adults were mad at me ......But not you. Or the times you knew I hated cutting grass but wanted me to learn Independence and responsibility. Even paid me $20 knowing I never finished. How about the rides in the pick up trucks just going for a ride ,just because I was your Grandson.
So when you get to Heaven and you and my mom are sharing ANGEL stories, can you let her know I miss her smile and cornbread. By the way, you never told me your Barbeque chicken recipe....I know, I know "IT wouldn't be a secret if you told everybody Ricky" .
