Obituary of Franklin Giles
Franklin D. Giles, son of the late Jessie J. and Julia Dillard-Giles, was born on November 3, 1944 in Axton, Virginia. He departed this life peacefully on January 28, 2021 in the Christiana Hospital.
He was a devoted mechanic and loved to work on any kind of vehicle. He was employed with Joseph P. Hardy & Son, Inc., from which he retired.
Franklin leaves to cherish his memories; his only daughter, Janice (Gregory) Craig-Comer of Hartford, CT; one goddaughter, Aleshia Comer; one stepdaughter, Mary Denise Craig; four stepsons, Willis Conner, Lewis (aka Ali) Craig, Kevin, and Keith; nine grandchildren, Monique, Luke Willis, Aleshia, Jackie, Keisha, Nyleen, Jonathan, Janika, and his baby boy Javor; twenty great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a devoted friend, Denise Porter of 30 years; a devoted nephew, Billy Giles (aka son); his favorite cousin, George Hairston; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Elder Claude Giles, Henry Clay Giles, and Jesse Giles; and four sisters, Nanny Hairston, Lillie A. Scales, Abby Sue Hylton, and Occie Giles.
