Obituary of Brian Bruce Fitzgerald

Brian B. Fitzgerald transitioned to be with the Lord on December 31, 2020 at his
home in Wilmington, Delaware. Brian was born on November 9, 1967 in Wilmington,
Delaware to Diane R. Fitzgerald (deceased October 28, 1994). Brian is the oldest of 4
children.
Brian was educated in the Wilmington Public School System. Brian graduated in
1985 from Christiana High School. Throughout his teenage years Brian worked at a
variety of summer youth jobs and cleaning services. After high school Brian attended
Delaware Technical and Community College and worked for Strawbridge and Clothier
for about 10 years. His studies surrounded Business and Computer Programing. He
also worked many years at Gettier Security and when he left there in 2011, he started a
new career with G4S Secure Solutions as a Security Guard.
Brian was that one sibling, regardless of how he was feeling, always had a smile
when he greeted you. As a teen, Brian loved to read everything from comic magazines
to books. He loved going to the library. Brian could give you an earful about anything
he may have learned through his reading. He had a wealth of knowledge about
everything. Brian’s favorite football team was the Washington Redskins. He would talk
some crap about his skins. He played football for a short period for the Southbridge
Cowboys and for Christiana High School Vikings. He was also a great artist. He would
draw a lot of pictures from the comics he read. Brian was affectionately called “Big B”
by our neighborhood friends and considered a “Gentle Giant” by his family. Brian was
not a driver, but he would hop on bus or walk to wherever he needed to be.
He is survived by his siblings to cherish his memories Karen, Kevin (his wife
Diane) and Dawn Fitzgerald, a loving and devoted uncle (Bruce Fitzgerald), cousins,
and host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The Family of Brian Fitzgerald would like to thank everyone for the acts of
kindness extended to us during this time of bereavement. We will miss Brain’s face on

earth, but we will meet him again.

Funeral service for Brian will be private. The family plans to host a

memorial gathering at a later date.
