Randy Scott

Obituary of Randy L. Scott

Randy L Scott was born on September 25,1954 in Corona, NY to Lawrence M Scott and Doris E Pinkard. He passed away on December 17,2020 at home in New Castle, De.

Randy received his early childhood education from P S 149 in Corona, NY. Randy attended Andrew Jackson High School and Hempstead High School. After school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge. Randy was employed with the US Postal Service for 15 plus years and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

While he was not an official member of any church, he had strong ties to Canaan Baptist Church of which his wife is a member. While attending grade school, Randy was part of the audio/visual department. Randy was an avid reader and enjoyed trivia, world traveling, jazz and blues. He was a master organizer and ran the household like a well oiled ship. Because he was so meticulous, he was able to put together the best barbecue every year in June. He would start in March and had everything lined up and as the drill sergeant that we all knew him to be, he would give us all his specific instructions so that we would know exactly what he wanted. His family was the most important thing to him which was why he enjoyed the barbecue so much and was already preparing for 2021.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Lawrence M Scott, and his mother Doris E Pinkard.

Randy is survived by his wife, Celesteen Scott, daughter Nikia Scott, brother Daren Scott, nieces Shanae and Gabrielle Scott, sister Karen Wareham, niece Chanel Wareham and nephew Dominic Parker, great-nephew William Robinson, sister Yvonne Lopez and nephew Mark Lopez, grandchildren Jaitere, Percy and Alexis Scott, step mother Bertha Scott, beloved aunts Betty and Yvonne Scott and a host of relatives and friends.
