Lena Conquest

Obituary of Lena Marie Conquest

Lena Marie Conquest was born in Wilmington, Delaware on January 13, 1979 to Gerard and Darnella Dixon. On Sunday, December 6, 2020 the Lord dispatched angels to watch over all that Lena came to love as He gently whisked her away from her labor to eternal rest. Lena received her education from Howard High School of Technology, majoring in Culinary Arts and she attended Delaware Technical Community college for two years where she developed her love of cooking and pursed her passion to become a chef. She began her career as at Aramark but was a valued employee for over 10 years at Bob Evans where she was recognized with various awards and certificates for her incredible work ethic and professionalism until resigning as a result of her illness. There she formed invaluable long-term relationships that she came to treasure. Lena’s first love was her first-born son Ky who she was extremely proud of! On Valentine’s day 2007, Lena was joined in marriage to Royal L. Conquest and from this union two beautiful daughters were born, and she gained two daughters in love. Lena loved music, reading books, and was an avid Candy Crush player! Her favorite pass times was watching comedy flicks and horror movies, what a combination! Lena had a green thumb and took pride in her garden and caring for her plants but at best, you could always find her in the kitchen doing what she loved most, cooking. Her creativity was expressed in her cooking and baking as she enjoyed catering to others. Researching healthy alternatives, Lena not only discovered health benefits for herself, she became an entrepreneur packaging and selling Ginger shot sea moss and Purple sea moss to help others. In 2018 Lena came to know the Lord and accept Him as her personal Savior. She was a faithful member of Victorious Faith Christian Worship Center and was committed to serving her community while working with the youth ministry. Lena not only loved her church and her church family but she loved the name “Victorious” because she felt it identified with who she knew she was. She became a devoted bible study student always encouraging others to join her for her “You version” bible plans. Lena was a great friend to many and always provided a listening ear, giving sound advice and words of encouragement. She truly was beacon of light and strength to many and had a huge impact on those who shared her struggles. Lena was preceded in death by her grandparents; Darrow and Mary Andrews and Pastor’s James and Geraldine Dixon. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Royal L. Conquest; one son, Ky Debraux; two daughters, Kathrine “Katie” and Symphony “Debbie” Conquest; two daughters in love, Amaya Brokenbrough and Taylor Townsend; Her parents, Gerard and Darnella Dixon; two sisters, Tina and Tiffany Dixon; one nephew, Sian Feliciano-Dixon and one niece Eden Fletcher; five aunts, Joyce and Linda Dixon, Jaqueline (Willie) Row, Gisselle (Garfield) Randleman, Glenda (Lynn) Coleman; one uncle, Darrow (Kimberly) Andrews; one great aunt, Hazel Taylor; one aunt in love, Sheila Conquest; a devoted friend Binta Jenkins and a host of other family and friends. Lena touched the lives of everyone she met and will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
