Obituary of Joyce M. Norwood

On the morning of Wednesday, August 26th, 2020, Joyce Marie Norwood gave up her spirit (Psalm 31:5) and returned to her Heavenly Father after a long illness. Mommy was born in Wilmington, Delaware on January 4th, 1942. She was the daughter of Rufus Tildon and Helen Williams. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as her husband Johnnie Sr. and sisters, Elizabeth Wilkerson, Betty Tildon and Patsy Redden. She is survived by her children, JoAnn N. Wright (James), Johnnie Jr & Cynthia, Diane H. Gibbs (Paul), sisters, Priscilla D. Tildon and Gardenia S. Moore (Ben); 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren as well as other dear and devoted family members, cousins, and close friends who will remember her in their own loving way. A Repast (open to all) will be held immediately following the service at the Bellevue State Park Arts Center & Music Garden, 800 Carr Road, Wilmington, DE 19809, masks and social distancing will be in effect. We the family wholeheartedly thank the Pastor and his staff at Rock of Ages Church for their willingness to allow us to have mommy in her church one last time in this Pandemic environment. In lieu of flowers or donations to the family; please consider making a generous donation, in her honor, to Rock of Ages Church as they continue to share the Gospel which is more in need today, than we can imagine.
