Trustee Billie White

Obituary of Trustee Billie White

Trustee Billie White was born March 18, 1941 in Pasquotank County Elizabeth City, North Carolina to the late Alexander and Geneva White. Bill peacefully departed this life at heeding of the Master’s call on Friday September 4, 2020 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford, Delaware surrounded by his loving family. Bill was a skillful welder working for Metro Machines in Norfolk, VA for twenty-five years as a welder, truck driver, and a crane operator. Anything to do with machines, you’d find Billie involved. At a very young age, Billie dedicated his life to God when joining Mount Carmel Baptist Church in North Carolina. Upon moving to the State of Delaware in 2007, he became a member of Mount Enon Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. J. Mack Holt. Shortly thereafter the Rev. Dr. Patricia E. Green became his pastor. He was elevated to serve as a Trustee under her leadership. He took his responsibilities very seriously. The upkeep of the church building and the church grounds were his constant concerns. Even when he was too sick to participate in the grass cutting or other activities the trustees were responsible for, he made sure to remind the Trustee ministry of what needed to be done. You could also find Trustee White singing in the church general choir, as well as the men’s choir. His favorite song was “Praise is What I do.” His last day here with us, he sang this as he praised God from his sick bed. On August 18, 2007 Billie married the queen of his life, Corrine Griffin. These thirteen years proved to be years of wedding bliss. They were a loving and dedicated couple. There were many surprise parties, surprise gifts, surprise trips. Bill was a very devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin and child of God. But above all else, he was her BOO! Bill is survived by his loving wife, Corrine of thirteen years.
