Omg!!! I was so hurt in the passing of Val, she was more then a sister she was a friend. We shared a daughter and niece. She passed 46yrs. ago today. The hurt hit me hard but I know my God makes no mistakes . Family trust in the Lord with all you heart lean not unto your own understanding acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. That's what keeps me sane. Sharif,Leatty,Lajuan and family stay close, you have been hit hard this month with Ireene too. You will be in my prayers and I will always be here for you . To My Family,
It's difficult for me to begin to express how deep this loss is. Val was my Best Friend. We have been Best Friends for over 55 years and we just loved each other. Our journey began as little girls playing jump rope, jacks, 123 red light and all the games kids play. Dunleith Community has always been family and we were a part of the Carver Drive Family. We did everything together in our teenage years and continued our sister/friend relationship even into our Golden years. We loved spending time together and sharing the love of our families and the love of the LORD. She loved all of you passionately. Val loved life and lived it. She loved people and showed it. Val loved Praising the LORD. She generated so much energy and sunshine that she could light up any room she entered. I know that she was a gift from GOD and I thank Him for her. I was blessed with such a wonderful, caring, loyal, dependable, supportive, funny sister/friend in Val. When we were together all we did was laugh. I will always cherish those times. I thank you, her family, for sharing your Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend with me. I will continue to pray for each of you. Trust in the LORD for He will bring you peace and comfort. Hold on to all the beautiful memories that she has left in your hearts. I will also hold on to the memories of the true sister/friend (BFF) that she was and the love she left written on my heart.

My condolences the family. Val was truly a servant for the Lord. I’ll never forget the fun we had sitting on the walk in front of the house on Carver Dr. Years ago I worked the voting polls with Val a couple times and we enjoyed it all day long. Val will truly be missed but I know God wanted her more.

My condolences to family. Another childhood neighbor from Dunleith has gone home. Praying for Leatrice n Laquan in these hard times. I know how close you guys were. Val will surely be missed. Every time I saw her I would tell her; she had a beautiful voice.
