Obituary of Marcella Olivia Fisher

Marcella Olivia Boyer was born on January 29, 1956 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Robert and Mary Boyer Sr. She departed this life on August 17, 2020 at Wilmington Hospital. Marcella attended schools in Wilmington, Delaware graduating from Pierre S. DuPont High School in 1974, where she marched with the school’s band as a head majorette. After high school, she furthered her education graduating from Rowan University in New Jersey, Winston Salem University in North Carolina, and Glassboro State University in New Jersey. Later, Marcella enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany and Kaiserslautern, Germany. There she worked as a librarian and in the Chemical Specialist unit. Following the military after receiving an Honorable Discharge, she went on to work in various respectable career fields. Marcella worked for the U.S. Government as a Library Technician in Germany and at Fort Huachuca. Marcella then moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona where she worked as a Temporary Special Needs teacher. The following year she would be employed as a Statistic Compiler for Delaware Authority for Regional Transit in Wilmington, Delaware. Eventually, Marcella would develop a passion for servicing her community, which would lead her to a career in counseling with a number of local and government agencies which include: Child Inc. as a Youth Counselor, Ferris School for Boys as a Youth Care Worker/Counselor, Horizon House and Ministry of Caring (FCSDC) as a Rehabilitation Case Manager, which was her last job before retirement. Marcella was also a faithful member of Canaan Baptist Church in New Castle, DE. Marcella was a dedicated member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority-Epsilon Rho Zeta of Wilmington, DE. Marcella was a sweet, soft, kind, and loving person. She was always willing to help others before herself. Marcella loved to read and watch television. Her favorite television shows were NCIS, and Chicago PD. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Mary and Robert Boyer, Sr. Marcella leaves to cherish her memories: Husband Keith Fisher; Son Jamar Anwar White; Sisters: Beatrice Bowers, Eleanor Casson, Kim Wood, and Michelle (Nathaniel Barksdale); Brother Robert Boyer Jr.; Special Grandchild King White; Nephews: Ron Ron Cooper, Dennis Casson, Eddie Barksdale; Nieces: Chantay Darby, Tamika Casson, Anyae Bell, Austance Rogers; Step-Children: Stephen (Tip) Johnson, Kewann Young, Delinta (Lonnie) White, Stacey (Nicky) Gilbert (Ronald Gilbert), Keith Fisher Jr.; Special Friends: Sandra Anderson and Evelean, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-Law, relatives, and friends.
