Iantha was a friend as a classmate. In our occasional meetings in the last ten years, she radiated kindness and grace. Others mentioned her faith walk; grateful to have seen a reflection of that several times. She will be much missed. Sympathies to the family, and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Iantha's passing. What a fine woman. We managed to keep in touch over the years and had made plans to meet up after retirement. I am deeply deeply sorry to hear of her passing. My condolences to the family.

I will miss Minister Iantha greatly. Her dedication to God and Bethany Baptist was unparalleled by most. We spent many hours talking about our times in Penns Grove and Pedricktown, with her always telling me "You know who I'm talking about"! No, I don't think I know them. "Yes you do"! And she would spend the next 5 minutes describing the person, their children, their parents and grandmom's grandmom so I would understand who she meant. (Never did-lol) I loved working with her in ministry, her wonderful fashion style, and so many other things. She was definitely someone who was easy to talk and laugh with; could talk you off the edge in her sweet tone, and share her many years of wisdom. Rest on queen Iantha. I always told her she was the queen because of her regalness when she walked into a room; her infectious smile and radiant personality. To Tubby, her grandchildren, God-son Carl, other relatives, and friends, I will be praying for you as you deal with the transition of Evangelist Iantha Gilliam. She is truly missed. For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light. Psalms 56:13

Evangelist Iantha (I called her Minister Iantha) was a wonderful friend who I met at Bethany Baptist, Lindenwold, NJ. She was always pleasant and very knowledgeable about many things. She was someone of whom I enjoyed talking with because I always learned something from our conversations. Min. Iantha was like a big sister to me. Many times when service was over, she would ask me "what are you about to do after service?" Min. Iantha would have a restaurant or diner in mind to go have a bite to eat, and we would have a wonderful fellowship together. I laughed many times, because I thought we should be big as a house for the amounts of times we went out to eat; however, she was always careful of how much she would eat, and I learned to do the same. Therefore, we always would take home half of our meal. I missed seeing Min. Iantha over the past few y.ears, but I was away from the area for a while. Though Min. Iantha was truly loved by many of us, God loved her even more. Rest in Heavenly Peace, Min. Iantha. Your loving smile and your stylish attire will always be remembered.
