Obituary of Clement D Maynard

Clement D. Maynard was born on December 23, 1947 in Bronx, NY to the late Conrad A. Maynard, Sr. and Martha Maynard. He passed away suddenly on August 6th, 2020 at the age of 72. Clement, known to family and friends as “Butch” graduated from Rahway High School in Rahway, NJ. Upon graduation, he attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health Education. He later furthered his education by completing a master’s degree in Administration/Organizational Development at Antioch University. Butch was passionate about helping others. He worked various careers serving a large variety of disabled citizens. Organizations worked for include, Bureau of Visually Impaired, Tris, Inc., Elwyn Institute, West End Neighborhood House, and Goodwill Industries. He also worked at Delaware Technical and Community College as the Upward Bound Program Manager and the City of Wilmington as a Program manager with the Division of Employment and Training. Butch LOVED the game of basketball!! He played on his high school and college teams. As an adult you could find him playing with various adult leagues in DE and PA. He was also a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and would often text his daughters during the game to complain when a bad call was made. Butch is survived by two daughters: Jamaris and Jeanine Maynard. The mother of his children, Veda Maynard. His siblings: Joseph F. (Monty) Dorsey, Deborah M. Griffin(Eugene), Shelle Y. Dorsey O’Loughlin, and Conrad A. (Skip) Maynard Jr.(Yvette). Grandchildren: Jezelle and Milan Banks. Aunt: Linda Maynard-Hall. Nieces: Tamara, Dominique, and Renee Dorsey, Amber Maynard, Sanaya Lee(Paul). Nephews: Ontkean J. Maynard(Cristina), Eugene and La’Keith Griffin. Cousins: Tyson Hall(Martha), Preston Trye, Lonene Dubosse(Felix), Alan Jeter, Glenn Jeter, William Gerald Thorpe, Randall Thorpe. His pet dog Patches and a host of other family and friends. Butch will be united in Heaven with both parents: Conrad A. Maynard Sr. and Martha Maynard, Step-Mother: Iona Maynard, sister: Doris Wells, Uncles: Larry Maynard and Ivan Maynard, Niece: Darlene A. Rawlins, Nephews: George V. Wells, Lionel A. Wells and other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
