I was sorry to read of the passing of Mary Ann, when I worked at AIG across the street from the cleaners, she was my go-to girl. In the beginning she eyed me good; but I softened her up and we were good from there; always pleasing to visit with her. I had not seen her in years and often wondered if she was still hanging in there. I'm so sorry, I never stopped in to see, God Bless her Sweet Soul and my condolences to the family.

To the family of Mary Ann ,I was so shocked to hear of your passing. I was in disbelief, I called the cleaners. Then reality stepped in. We have had many conversations thru the years a n.v d all were good. God needed a seamstress and he took the Best. My family and I are going to truly miss you. Rest in peace. My deepest condolences to Butch, George, Daria, Larry, Moses, and family. Mary and I were friends for many, many years. She taught me so many things like how to sew, how to use and make my own patterns, how to be a mother, by taking the best care of her children. She spoke her mind, which was so funny sometimes. Her work ethic was like no other. She was loyal to a fault. Even though we didn't see much of each other in later years, when we did, we would catch up and act just like old times. I'm going to miss you, girl. Rest in Peace. Praying for comfort, peace, and understanding for the family at this time. May God bless you all.

Mary was much more than a "seamstress" at the downtown City Cleaners. She was the heart-and-soul of the place and all of us longtime customers knew that she actually RAN the place through the decades and through several owners. More than that, Mary was like family to the many customers such as myself who patronized the business for years because of Mary's friendly spirit and excellent customer service. You never had to tell Mary how to treat your clothes; after a few visits she knew whether you wanted your shirts starched or not or if you prefer a hard crease in your pants, she knew when you had clothes there that you forgot about and she remembered your full name and often your phone number. Mary was that one-in-a-million angelic soul who touched many of us and she will be greatly missed. I lived out of the state for most of the last 20 years, but whenever I came home for a visit, I always dropped in to say hi to Mary and to drop off clothes to be retrieved on my next visit. That's how good her work was!!! The last time I saw our Miss Mary was at Delaware Park Casino, where she was off in a corner playing a slot machine to her heart's content. She had the Midas touch there and she used to tell me about her "big hits."
To the family, I know your hearts are heavy (and so are ours), but take comfort in knowing how much Mary was loved and respected by so many. We send our deepest sympathy and lots of love! May God hold you tight in the days ahead.
