Mark Lewis, II

Obituary of Mark Anthony Lewis, II

Mark Anthony Lewis II, affectionately known as Mark Mark and Squeeze to his family and friends, was born November 11, 1987 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Mark and Angela Lewis. On Sunday, July 5, 2020, Mark was welcomed home into his eternal resting place. Mark began his education in several Christian and Charter schools in Philadelphia. In 1999, Mark’s family moved to Delaware where he completed his education and graduated from Delcastle Technical High School in 2005 with a concentration in Plumbing. He completed a plumbing apprenticeship program and received his certificate which landed him positions with various contractors and Plumbing companies in Delaware and Pennsylvania until two serious accidents impacted his health. Mark was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia as an infant. Many people would never know he had this debilitating and extremely painful illness because it never stopped him from enjoying life to its fullest. Mark enjoyed playing basketball and tap dancing in his younger years. He loved to party and was always on the dance floor once he heard the music starting. He also played piano by ear, a talent he inherited from his father and many may not have known he possessed. Mark was an original member of the Philadelphia Based family Rap music group Black Triadd founded in part by his brother Kendell. Mark was very charismatic and those who really knew him couldn’t help but love him as he was a big jokester! Mark was known for his generosity and kindness. If you had him as a friend, you could always call on him in your time of need. If he could not get you what you needed himself, he would find someone who could. Mark accepted Christ at an early age and maintained his own personal relationship with God. Mark was preceded in death by his son Elijah Anthony Lewis and his older brother Kendell. Mark leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Mark Sr and Angela Lewis; sister, Keisha Hodges (Cleveland); grandmothers, Anna Grace and Agnes Nichols; sister-in-law, Darla Nichols; nieces, Jade and Saniya; nephews, Omar and Carmelo; his Black Triadd family, and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.
