Overseer LaShele Jones-Evans

Obituary of Overseer LaShele N. Jones-Evans

LaShele Novette Jones-Evans, affectionately known as "Shele", was born November 5, 1975 in Wilmington, Delaware, and raised in Newark, Delaware. She is the daughter of the late Noah “Chilly” Wilkerson and the late Leslie A. Jones-Wilkerson. LaShele received her early education in the Delaware public school system. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1993. After graduating from high school, she attended Goldey-Beacom College to pursue a Bachelor of Business. Shortly after attending Goldey-Beacom College, she began her long-lasting career in Healthcare Administration. She received a bachelor's degree in Theology at The Higher Ground School of the Bible Institute, where she later served as a certified teacher. June 16, 2001, LaShele was united in holy matrimony to Damion Evans Sr. Their marriage was one many aspire to. They were true lovers, but even more, they were the BEST of friends. They enjoyed every moment of life together. It was very unlikely to see one of them without the other, no matter the occasion. So yes, she would occasionally drag him to a last-minute girl’s night out and women’s conferences. They were a proud union. Together they became the proud parents of 6 children, 4 grandchildren, and 4 God-children. Family was very important to LaShele. She enjoyed weekly family gatherings and coordinating yearly family summer vacations where she required every one of her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to be in attendance. She took every role she held in the family very seriously. As the wife, she was diligent, loving, and supportive. As the big sister & eldest daughter, she was encouraging, protective, and was a second mother to all of her siblings. As a mother and grandmother, she was overwhelmingly inspiring, nurturing, and influential. Above all else, LaShele loved God. Although she had not grown up in the church, the Lord revealed His glory through the trials, tribulations, and victorious experiences she endured throughout her life. In her early adult years, she devoted her life to doing God’s work. In 2012, the Lord sent LaShele to begin Pastoring “Heaven Touched Outreach Ministry.” HTOutreach (as the members nicknamed it) is located in Wilmington, DE and is covered under the Apostolic guidance of Bishop Mary V. Baxter of Raleigh, NC. Outside of pastoring HTOutreach, alongside her husband, LaShele hosted bi-monthly empowerment events for the community themed: “Help, Show Me How to Make it.” She is also the founder of L.I.F.T. “Ladies in Fellowship Together”, a global women’s mentoring network. She is also the author of "30 Day Personal Prayer Revival" which was listed #3 on Amazon Author's List. She's also a contributing author of "Married to The Ring." In 2018, Pastor LaShele became a distinguished member of the Freshwind Ladies Ministry founded by Minister Benzina Pressey. In 2018 she was an honoree of Leading Ladies of Delaware, LLC, for her accomplishments and faithful service to the community and ministry. 2018 was a year of elevation for Pastor LaShele as she again answered the call of God as an Overseer in the Lord’s church. She has traveled up and down the east coast, boldly preaching & teaching at Prophetic Gatherings, Women & Youth Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Marriage Retreats, Bible Studies, and Revivals. She was an inspirational voice for the lost and did not mind spiritually fighting in the trenches with who some people would consider the "unchurched" and "backsliders.” She can be quoted saying, “Send them all to me. I want them at my church!” because it was her heart’s desire for everyone to know and live in the love of Christ the Savior. LaShele was preceded in death by her father, Noah “Chilly” Wilkerson, mother Leslie A. Jones-Wilkerson; maternal grandfather Bernard “Bus” Jones, paternal grandmother Marion Brown, paternal grandfather Noah Brown; her parent-in-loves Joan Evans and sister-in-love Chrishinda Evans. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband Damion Evans Sr.; her children: Myesha Jones, Alonzo Jones III, Dantesia Dobson, Damiah Jones, Alonzo Nelson, and Damion Evans Jr.; four God-children, Lonja Wilson, Tra'Nae White, Corynn Saunders, Damarion Smallwood; four grandchildren, Milan Dobson, Theory Shehee, Dante Evans, and Asim Harmon; her maternal grandmother Thelma “Tootsie” Jones; her father-in-love, Samuel Baise; her siblings, Omega Washington, Tiffany Jones, Noah Jones (Christina), Leslie Mensah (George); her devoted sister-friend Antoinette “Toni” Chandler; her devoted Aunt Crystal Burton and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
