Obituary of Peggy Lee Williams

Peggy Lee Williams was born on December 25 1944, in Halifax County Virginia, to Mary Barksdale and Melvin Childress. She passed on May 24, 2020 at her home in Wilmington, Delaware. Peggy received her early childhood education from The public school system in Halifax Virginia. After completing school, she married Charlie Brooks and became a mother to six children. Peggy joined the health care field, and worked many years before retiring from Visiting Nurses Association. Peggy was a faithful member of New Community Church, and The Ministry of caring, located In Wilmington Delaware. She had many hobbies and interest including spending time with her family, listening to Gospel music, traveling, feeding the less fortunate, and cooking. Peggy was preceded In death by her father Melvin Childress, daughter Phyllis Brooks, son Darris Wayne Brooks along with an older sister and brother. Peggy is survived by son and daughter in-law James and Jerry Thornton; daughters, Shirley Brooks and Linda Brooks; sisters, Elizabeth, Betty, Rebecca and Matty; brother, John and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.
