Obituary of Phillip Robertson

Phillip R. Robertson passed away peacefully after a long illness on April 27, 2020 in Chestertown, MD.   Phillip Romero Robertson was born on December 22, 1930 to Gerald and Evelyn Robertson of Baltimore, MD. Phillip lived the majority of his life in Wilmington, DE. Phillip received his early childhood education in Wilmington and was a proud graduate of Howard High School. After graduation, he joined the Navy Reserves and served with honor for three years. Phillip R. Robertson retired from the Delaware Barrel and Drum Company after 40 plus years. He served as the president of the union for a number of years advocating for the rights of his fellow workers. Phillip was a faithful member of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church located in New Castle, DE. He was very passionate about his duties as a Deacon his entire life. He enjoyed making and meeting friends wherever he went. Phillip was known for his sense of humor and infectious smile. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Evelyn Robertson; brother, Paul Robertson and sister, Frances Reed. Phillip leaves to mourn his sons, Ronald A. Cephas(Patricia), Marvin Bell(Lillian), Dwayne Bell and Elder Michael Garnett; life partner of more than 30 years, Juanita Lewis; 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren,  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved church family, friends and Ms. Etta Robertson(ex-spouse).
