Obituary of Kathy Sue Moore

Kathy Moore was born on March 20th, 1955 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Susan B. Lewis and Carey Lewis. She spent her childhood and early teen years in Philadelphia before marrying and leaving to travel the world on assignment with her husband. Kathy passed on to heaven April 8th, 2020 in Bear, Delaware. Kathy received an education in Philadelphia as a graduate of Overbrook High School. She married early and began her lifelong relationship with Barry Moore, also a Philadelphia native. Together they raised three children and lived all over the world. In addition to raising a family and living in various locations she was successful in her passionate studies of social work earning a bachelor's degree from Delaware State University. She then worked for the state of Delaware for several years doing what she loved, helping people. Kathy was a faithful member of Dover Christian fellowship. She enjoyed playing softball, going to concerts, traveling, and she loved spoiling her family, creating new recipes and cooking delicious meals. Holidays and family events were often in her home, she loved the tradition of family gatherings. Kathy was a strong woman with such an incredibly close bond with her husband, kids, nieces, and grandchildren. She instilled a mindset of keeping a tight knit family, which is evident in the closeness they have always maintained. This was one of her proudest accomplishments. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Barry Moore, Three children Barry Jr. ,Eric, & Courtney Moore. Two older brothers Phil & Xavier and a younger sister Ida “babe” Norman. Eight Grandchildren Joslyn Moore, Kevin Moore, Eric Moore, Vincent Moore, Theodore Johnson, Ida-Rose Moore, Trevor Johnson, and Troy Johnson. As well as many other family and friends she loved dearly.
