John, the best brother in law, ever! John, who made everyone feel like they were his favorite niece, nephew, uncle. John called me Ms. Danella (who knows where that came from) was always so loving and humble. My wonderful memories of you are countless. I used to baby sit the boys (Johnnie, Jay, Jansen and Jermaine) and you would pick me up in the volkswagen at Moms and drive me back and forth. During those rides I would always ask you Bible questions and you would always explain and teach in depth because you loved the word and I loved hearing your talk about the gift of salvation. I remember when I found out that you had gone home to be with the Lord--I was speechless and even now it seems unreal. We just were not ready to see you go and we never had time to say good-bye. However, Gods will is perfect.
Recently I was telling my big sister, your loving wife, Irene that when the Lord called your name, you did not hesitate to answer because this is how and why you lived every day of your life. Although we miss you dearly and love you deeply, I believe that when the Lord called your name, you jumped into his arms, never looking back but knowing you would see Irene, your sons and all of us again.
What can I say other than I love you with all my heart and I will see you again.

I, like the many thousands of people in the City of Wilmington, State of Delaware and around the country were deeply saddened to hear that our brother in Christ, very personal friend had gone home to be with the Lord. Deacon Johnnie B. Wilson, Sr. of whom has had the most impeccable character and Godly gift to listen very attentively, discuss and share with those in conversation that was confronting very serious and emotional problems that they were going through (and I was one of those). I will always cherish the memories of the very happy and heartfelt times of joy and great fellowship sitting, talking and laughing with him for hours, at the light store, in his home at the holiday dinners and at mother McCants home, and the trips and vacation stays as I was honored to go with the family to South Carolina for the vacations and family reunions.
To my sister in Christ, Irene Wilson, many of our prayers go out to you and the family in that I can bear witness to the good beautiful and Godly love, and partnership, friendship as husband and wife that you both displayed. Always laughing together as if your entire marriage was just one big Godly blessed honeymoon. I thoroughly enjoyed working over the years with you and Deac. Wilson in helping to donate and raise money for your Christmas toys and coat drive at the church. I will always cherish the fine times and memories that I have, so precious and dear to my heart.
If there is ever anything I can do to help you please do not hesitate to call.
