Michael Holley

Obituary of Michael L. Holley

Michael L. Holley was born December 5th, 1960 in Salem, New Jersey to Joseph L. Holley Sr. and Luerine H. Jones. He departed this life on February 5th, 2020 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Michael received his early education through the Christiana (DE) School District and graduated from Salem High School (Salem, NJ) in June 1978. Michael then enlisted in the United States Army and after a brief stint was honorably discharged. He was a go getter. Michael loved music of all types and turned that passion into a career. It started with manipulating a sound and few spins on his turntables. From there, Mike would record and sell his mix CD’s from out the trunk of his car. This lead to the formation of “DJ Mike “who could be seen at local social events notably at VFW Post 6687 Moss- Robertson Post aka the Grey House in Southbridge. He spent his leisure time shooting the breeze with friends at Christiana Park, weekly trips to Cowtown and a die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan. Michael was a friend to many and will be missed for his sense of humor and warm smile. Michael was preceded in death by his father Joseph L. Holley Sr.; three sisters Sandra F. Holley, Josephine H. Reed and Rosemary Kennedy; and stepfather Curtis F. Jones. Michael is survived by his devoted/ loving companion of over 10+ years Terri M. Walker (they were meant to be before each knew it); two daughters Lateir Williams and Robyn Brittingham-Williams; mother Luerine Jones; brother Joseph L. Holley Jr.; 6 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
