I'll never forget the first time I met Shep at the Flea Market, it changed my life. I always enjoyed stopping by and shopping with him, but the conversations and time we shared together will always mean much more to me. He had a contagious smile that would light up any room and his happy-go-lucky spirit will live on forever. I am extremely grateful that our lives crossed paths. He brought me so much joy at the flea market, even if I left his booth empty handed, I always left with a story or some quality life advice. You'll be missed Big Guy, your spit will live on forever at New Castle. Rest Easy -Casey

Hi, I met my friend Shep at the NC Farmer's Market, about 20 years ago. At that time, Shep was selling paintings. Shep had elegant taste in music and art. @15 years ago, economically was scuffling. Shep offered to loan me money which I declined.instead he gave me a job helping him set up and in the process preserving my dignity. Shep had a great sense of humor I am blessed to have known such an intelligent and compassionate man and he helped a lot of people. Until we meet again, "Johnny Bo" Crowley

Dear Family, My sister, Melody, and I had the pleasure of meeting Shep last year at the Goodwill Outlet. We became fast friends with Shep and always enjoyed seeing him there where he held court like a king. Everyone at the Outlet knew Shep and respected him. Shep knew everyone and was always ready to offer suggestions to other buyers and vendors. Shep was a strong, kind man who has been sorely missed since he was unable to come back to join us for the madness. We learned of Shep's passing yesterday at the Outlet...the mood was changed instantly. Our Shep has been a fixture in our lives both at the Outlet and on a personal, friendship level. Melody and I had opportunities to enjoy Shep's kindness and warmth. Shep encouraged me to believe in myself, to create and share my visions with others. I was able to tell Shep about my finally launching myself out there the last time we spoke; he was proud of me. We love Shep, we love Shep, we love Shep. We are grateful to have known and loved him along with all his friends at the Outlet and in the flea market realm. Rest in peace, dear friend, Shep. In loving memory, Stacey & Melody Williams
