Oscar Williams was born on March 17, 1935, in Bridgeville, DE, to the late David Harris and Rebecca Williams-Black. He passed on Sunday December 22, 2019 in Wilmington, DE. Oscar, known affectionately by his family as “Unc”, received his education in Wilmington, DE. Oscar worked at County Building as a Security Guard for many decades. Oscar was a semi-professional boxer in his early years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hanging with his friends on Church Street. Oscar loved the ladies, making money, and driving around in his Big Daddy Lincoln. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents David Harris and Rebecca Williams-Black, his sisters Alberta and Thelma Black, and his brothers Harry, Jr./June and Maurice Black, and Tommy Williams. Oscar is survived by his children: Tyrone (Kateri) Bland, Renee and her husband (Harlen) Ridley, and Arlene Matthews; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchild; his brother Charles (Pamela) Black and Sisters Dorothy and Elizabeth Black and Shirley Saunders; his caretakers Johnny and Mary Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
