Obituary of Anita R. Alexander-Watson
Anita R. Alexander-Watson was born November 4th, 1947, in Wilmington, Delaware to Annie Mae Alexander and Robert Lindsey Alexander. She passed on December 22nd, 2019 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware.
“Bertie” received her High School Diploma from Wilmington Public High School. After high school Bertie, earned and received her License to practice nursing (LPN) from Delaware Technical Vocational College, which she used for many years, proudly at Hillside House and Emily Bissell. Bertie had many hobbies and interests that included being the family social butterfly, playing numbers, listening to Gladys Knight and playing pity pat. She also enjoyed going to Delaware Park.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Loretta J. McCain, Vera Bembry, Anthony R. Alexander, Adrienne (Turkee) Alexander and Sondra L. Martin. She also has 3 remaining siblings: Annie Hall, Letitia E. Alexander, David R. Alexander and one sister/niece, Celeste Clark (Chuckie). Honorable mention, Patricia Watkins-Talib, best friends Dolly and Ella.
Anita “Bertie” Alexander leaves behind her husband, John M. Watson; her children, Nicole A. Alexander- Hines (Deponta), Jamal Alexander (Aurora) and Staci L. Watkins and her beloved Wootie; her grandchildren, Ashlei Alexander, Taj J. Alexander-Wilson, Asaad and Aisha Monroe, Brooklyn and Zion Alexander; great grandchildren Ahmiya and Ahliya Cacho-Monroe; step-children Jeremiah (Desiree) Pauls and Marlo Brooks; step-grandchildren: Aaron and Jasmine Bell, Nikki Brooks and Jaliynn and James Rome; and a host of relatives that she loved like her own.
