John Miller, Jr.

Obituary of John D. Miller, Jr.

John Douglas Miller Jr., was born on January 31, 1960, in Ahoskie, NC to John Douglas Miller Sr., and Minnie Inez Miller (Tann). He transitioned from this life on November 6, 2019 at his home with his wife by his side.

John Miller, also known as “Moon”, received his early education at Elbert Palmer, and later Dunleith and De La Warr High School. After completing his education, “Moon” received employment at SunAir Sanitation for over 10 years as a furniture mover. In the early 90’s he was employed at Hopkins and Sons Moving and Storage for 15 years. In the mid 2000’s, “Moon” wanted to look for something that was a little closer to home. With that search, he found a company that he would call home in Delaware Moving and Storage. He was very good to them, and in return, they were very good to him.

John was a caring person with a very humorous side. He also had a really good heart for people. It was nothing for him to help someone with their yard work or help with odd jobs in the neighborhood or give back to the homeless. His heart went above and beyond especially for family and loved ones. His sense of humor reached many with his favorite line “ Ya Killin me”

John Douglas Miller was preceded in death by his father John Douglas Miller Sr. and his son Jaleel Miller

“Moons” Legacy is survived by: his wife Patience Miller, his mother Minnie Miller, brother Darnell Miller; 3 Daughters: She-meka Miller, Ednina Miller, Tanisha Miller; 5 Grandkids: Te’arra, Tamyah, Shakira, and Mariah Handy, and Ameera Miller, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
