Obituary of David H. Coles, Sr.

Isaiah 41:10:

David H Coles Sr. gained his wings on August 28, 2019 in Wilmington DE. 

David was born on November 20, 1962 in Wilmington, DE to James and Mary Coles. 

David received his early education at shortlidge elementary school pre-k through 2nd grade. He went to Christ Our King Catholic School for the remaining years. David graduated from Saleisaum High School after high school he attended Del Tech Community College he received his associate degree in engineering technology during his college years he played basketball number 11 guard.

David H. Coles Sr. worked for the State of Delaware's Department of Transportation working in traffic control for 30 years, retiring in 2015 at the age of 52.

In 1986 his first child was born Daidrianne R. Coles and in 1989 his name sake David H. Coles Jr. was born. 

In 1997 he met Erica, who be came is soulmate. On October 20, 2007 they joned in Holy matrimony and David loved his "Boo Boo".  

Reflecting back on David's life, he was the co-founder of J. Street's Athletics organiztion in 1985. He coached football for the youth around the neighborhood for J.Street's Raiders. J.Street had a softball team which he was a team member. David H. Coles, Sr. was an influential man through his amazing life lessons. He had a heart a gold and an amazing smile. He enjoyed sports favorite teams Philadelphia 76ers, and Dallas Cowboys. In 1979 he started cutting hair in his mothers basement for 5 dollars it was never about the money it was a gathering with the brothers. He valued his family and friends. David was a man that spoke his mind and did not sugarcoat anything. David loved watching Friday, "Bye Flecia" and tv shows.

David H. Coles, Sr preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Coles.  

David leaves to cherish his memory loving wife, Erica Coles; son David H. Coles, Jr., daughters, Daidrianne Coles and Kaylah Dessausure, grandchildren, Maliyah Chapman and Kodah Dessausure; brother, Richard B. Cole;, god parents, Joe and Lilly Wisher; his J Street Crew- Art Sr. ,Leroy Jr., John Turner, Jimmie Gordon, Raymond, Cobbs family, Ames family, Skinner/Turner families, Darryl Watson, John Kornegay, Lendon Johnson(Berry), niece, nephew, aunts,uncles, host of family and loving friends.
