To the family of Ernie Pressey, Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your loved one. Ernie was a kind and special man and full of so much love, joy and laughter. I first met Ernie at Mellon Bank many years ago and he was always a pleasure to work with. If I needed any kind of help, kind word or a laugh for the day he was always right there. I thank you Ernie for being the person you were and family I thank you for sharing Ernie (the singing bird) with me. It was my pleasure and honor to know him and to know him was to love him. To my Family, I remember cousin Ernest singing at my wedding and for my Dad funeral. At my wedding all my guest was praising him and said to me he has a awesome voice. Wow they was amazed, and I would run into him time and time at Walmart. You fault a good fight cousin, now it time you take your seat in Heaven. Where you can sing all day long. Family I will keep you all lifted in prayer. Sleep on Ernest.

I worked with Kathy and Ernie at Bank of Delaware in the 80’s. We were all very close. Kathy got me involved through her dad, Fr. Merrill, with St. Martha’s Episcopal church in Bethany Beach and I attended for many years. We had great times in Wilmington and at the beach. I think of the Presseys so often. So sad to reconnect this way, though I will say that Ernie's obituary is perfect. Nobody could sing The Lord’s Prayer like Ernie. Perfectly beautiful. My condolences to all of the families. May you be blessed with beautiful memories, as mine are.

There are so many things that I can say about your presence in my life. The memories continue to flood my heart. At New Hope being the first in line for the red punch. You said they had the best kool-aid, to answering my calls when a soloist was needed for weddings or funerals of friends and loved ones. But the one I will hold in my heart forever is when I told you I can’t hold a note in my hand and you told me ‘As long as God is pleased that’s all that mattered’ and til this very day I sing out loud and with joy about the goodness of God. Well done thy Good and Faithful Servant. You will truly be missed.
